Emily Harwitz is a freelance science journalist who enjoys exploring the world—both literally and by writing about the environment and our connection to it. She is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz’s science communication program and has a background in chemistry and ecology. When not writing, Harwitz is probably playing her flute, drinking tea, practicing animal sounds, or embarking on her next adventure.
