Denaya Shorter is a California transplant who relocated to the Pacific Northwest to pursue her passion for environmental education. She holds a M.A.Ed.. in urban environmental education and a BS in biology and ecology, recently making a career transition into urban outreach and education. Denaya’s writing focuses on the intersectionality of race, identity and the environment, pulling from her diverse academic and professional experiences as an environmental professional of color.
