NAMI Washington
NAMI Washington, and our state affiliates, is all about improving the quality of life for all those affected by any kind of mental health condition. NAMI envisions a world where all people affected by mental illness live healthy, fulfilling lives supported by a community that cares. NAMI Washington, the State office of the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization, works diligently to build better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental health conditions. There are currently 19 affiliates in the state.
NAMI – the National Alliance on Mental Illness, started as a small group of families gathered around a kitchen table in 1979 and has blossomed into the nation’s leading voice on mental health. Today we are an association of six hundred local affiliates working in communities across the country to raise awareness about mental health, along with providing support, education and advocacy for those in need and the people who love them.
Talk to NAMI representatives about our current programs, offerings and community events. In addition, you will learn about our upcoming NAMIWalks fundraiser and more. Not only do we focus on mental health, we also lobby at the state level to pass behavioral health laws that help marginalized individuals living with mental health challenges, something we would be happy to discuss in detail. More important: Did you know teen mental health is now at the forefront of most mental health conversation today? We do!
