Host, Post Reports
Martine Powers is the senior host of Post Reports, The Washington Post’s flagship daily news podcast. Since launching the show in December 2018, Powers and the Post Reports team have grown a massive audience of loyal listeners, and their work has been recognized by the Peabody Awards, the Online News Association, the Webbys, the National Association of Black Journalists and the duPont-Columbia Awards. In 2023, Powers hosted a seven-part investigative podcast series,The Empty Grave of Comrade Bishop, about the unsolved mystery around the remains of Grenada’s former prime minister. Powers came to The Washington Post in 2016 after working at The Boston Globe and Politico and spending a year as a Fulbright fellow in Trinidad & Tobago. While working as a Metro reporter covering infrastructure and transportation, she served as interim host of The Post’s Can He Do That? and hosted the narrative miniseries How to Flip the House ahead of the 2018 midterms. Later that year, she was named the founding host of Post Reports. |
