The Seattle Sounders came close to making the MLS Cup final despite having put themselves into a 3-0 hole in the first game of the Western Conference Finals.
The Sounders needed to win by three goals in Sunday's game to catch the Los Angeles Galaxy, who beat them earlier. The team played valiantly, scoring two goals before LA got one. The Galaxy then held on to win the conference championship and face the Houston Dynamo for the MLS Cup.
The Sounders call the season, their fourth, "another step forward."
