In spite of the sunny weather, a storm cloud is hanging over the University District today. KUOW has issued a long-range forecast for "Weekday," and it looks like there’s a 100 percent chance of no more UW meteorologist Cliff Mass on Friday episodes of the popular show.
On the surface map, it appears that a cold front emerged recently between Mass and "Weekday’s" producers (Katy Sewall and host Steve Scher) over Mass’ increasing tendency to comment on issues other than the weather. Temperatures began to fluctuate wildly as what appears to be a major low-pressure cell began to develop north of the city. Doppler radar shows the storm cell to be centered roughly between the UW campus and KUOW studios on the Ave.
With a lengthy post Thursday (May 19), Mass created a Puget Sound convergence zone stretching from high in the blogosphere to the lowlands of KUOW’s Facebook page.
As with any convergence zone, stormy weather ensued. Perhaps La Nina is to blame?
