New donors and renewing Members to Crosscut chipped in $1,530 in the last hours of the tax year, enabling us to beat our year-end goal by a nifty $310. We end our 2010 budget year on this good note, and in the black. There's even gas in the tank to help fuel a lot of new initiatives for 2011. So thanks folks, and welcome all you new Members. I'll hope to meet some of you at a new-Members drinks and discussion we'll be telling you about for later this month.
Even if you missed the tax deadline (gifts to Crosscut are tax-deductible), we still would love to have you as a new Member. If you join before the Jan. 25 event, you can come to this free gathering; or join at the door. Members of Crosscut receive numerous benefits, on a tiered scale. Annual Memberships start at $35 ($25 for students). You will be eligible for free-to-Members events such as the new Member reception and discussion coming up in mid-January; ticket discounts; and forums and parties where you will meet newsmakers, Crosscut staffers and writers, special guests, and fellow Members. Our most recent all-Members event was a housewarming for our new offices in Pioneer Square. The event was free to Members, with food and wine and great conversation.
