Cheers, Bottoms Up, Down the Hatch: men have hundreds of words for drinking, but a limited language to discuss their health, particularly issues such as prostate cancer. They may know their IPA, not their PSA.
Hence, "Tie One On," a blue-ribbon fundraiser on Wednesday, sponsored by Pints for Prostates and UsToo, is being held to raise awareness about men's prostate health through the universal language of beer. (Blue-ribbon: because just as pink is to breast cancer, blue is to prostate cancer.) This year, just in time for Fathers Day, there's an event at Pike Brewing Company. A silent auction Wednesday from 6 to 9 pm at the brewery's Museum Room, and 20 percent of the entire day's proceeds will be donated to the cause.
If you go: Wednesday, June 16, 6-9 pm, at Pike Brewing Company, 1415 First Ave., Pike Place Market.
